Quartz is an incredibly abundant mineral found on the earth’s surface. Typically colourless, or white hexagonal prisms, quartz has many unique properties, making it the second hardest material to diamond, and therefore a sturdy yet stylish kitchen surface.

Quartz worktops are incredibly resistant to stains, and will only be vulnerable to red wine, tea, coffee and tomato sauce if they are not cleaned up straight away. Similarly, you can give yourself additional peace of mind and avoid stains by using trays, trivets and cutting boards.

The combination of stone and resin in a quartz worktop makes it very tough. They very rarely crack or chip, yet it is important to remember that they are not indestructible.

Quartz worksurfaces will be heat resistant. They’ll be able to tolerate moderately hot temperatures for a short period, however, it is important to remember that quartz can be damaged if repeatedly exposed to too much heat.

Quartz is extremely difficult to damage and is only typically affected by a lot of force and weight, yet almost all chips can be repaired with ease.

A simple solution of warm water and soap will clean your quartz worktop perfectly. Simply just use a spray bottle, lightly cover the surfaces and then wipe them down with a soft cloth.

It’s important that you never use abrasive scouring pads or any scrubbing brushes, so you may damage the worktop.

A quartz worktop is scratch resistant but not scratch proof.
