Silestone is a leader in the quartz worktop industry, with over 30 years of experience creating innovative and eco-friendly surfaces. Known for its use of Hybriq+® technology, Silestone quartz worktops are made with recycled materials, significantly reducing the silica content for improved safety and sustainability. Whether you need a worktop that offers resilience or aesthetic beauty, Silestone’s quartz surfaces deliver both.

Silestone vs Other Materials

When choosing the ideal surface for your kitchen or bathroom, Silestone offers significant advantages over other popular materials. Whether compared to natural stones like granite and marble or engineered options like Corian, Silestone excels in durability, hygiene, and design versatility, making it a smart, long-lasting choice for your home or project.

  • Silestone stands out as a superior choice to granite. While granite is a natural stone, it is porous and requires regular sealing to prevent stains and bacteria buildup. Silestone, on the other hand, is non-porous, meaning it’s more hygienic, resistant to stains, and much easier to clean. Additionally, Silestone is available in a wider variety of colours and textures, giving you more design options without sacrificing durability.

  • Marble is celebrated for its beauty but is prone to scratching and staining. Silestone offers a similar luxurious look but with greater practicality. Silestone’s surfaces are highly scratch-resistant and much less prone to staining due to their non-porous nature, making them an excellent choice for busy kitchens and bathrooms where performance is as important as appearance.

  • Solid surface materials like Corian are often used for their seamless look and versatility. However, Silestone outperforms them in terms of durability and resistance to heat, scratches, and impacts. While Corian can be scratched and burned easily, Silestone’s quartz surfaces maintain their pristine appearance for years, offering a longer-lasting, more robust solution.

Silestone Countertop FAQs

  • Yes, Silestone is heat-resistant and can withstand moderate heat exposure. However, we recommend using trivets for extremely hot pots and pans to prevent sudden temperature changes from affecting the surface.

  • Silestone is highly scratch-resistant, but like all surfaces, it’s not completely scratch-proof. We recommend using cutting boards to protect the surface and maintain its pristine condition.

  • The cost of Silestone varies depending on the colour, finish, and size required for your project. Contact Aspire Stone for a custom quote that suits your specific needs and budget.

  • Yes, Silestone surfaces are made using Hybriq+® technology, which incorporates recycled materials and is manufactured using 100% renewable energy. This makes Silestone a sustainable choice for your home.

  • No, Silestone is not recommended for outdoor use. Exposure to UV rays can cause the colour to fade over time, making it better suited for indoor applications.

  • Bleach is an alkaline product that can damage a Silestone surface if exposure is prolonged (from 2 hours). As long as the surface is well rinsed after each application, you can use a diluted bleach solution on a daily basis.

  • The best way to prevent the edge from chipping is to round off the edge so as to minimise the chipping. Chipping normally occurs accidentally in frequently used areas (i.e.. under-surface sinks and dishwasher area) where they can usually be repaired. Please contact us to discuss your Silestone repair.
